The following indexes have been created either by Cumbria Archive Service or by volunteers from their own contribution. These indexes are for personal research use only and may not be reproduced or published in any form or used for commercial purposes (Creative Commons licence Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 International).

Most of the following indexes give mentions of servicemen (mainly British Army) in Cumbrian newspapers published during World War One. Information will vary slightly with each index but will usually include name, rank, regimental unit and service number (where known), address, reason for mention and location in newspaper.
